Clinical Psychologist
Ceren Başak Araz

Ceren Başak Araz has completed her bachelor’s degree in Bilkent University, Psychology, B.Adepartment with an honors degree. She received her M.A. diploma in Clinical Health Psychology from Okan University. Her M.A. thesis was on reliability and validity of “Comprehensive Breast Cancer Knowledge Test” to Turkish.


During her M.A. education she worked as an assistant clinical psychologist in Institute for Behavioral Sciences, Istanbul. She started her clinical work by working with the adolescent population and their families. After completing her M.A. degree she proceed to work with adults in the same institute.

BAŞAK ARAZ has completed EMDR level 1 and 2 trainings in 2011. Since then she proceeded to participate in advanced EMDR trainings offered internationally and in Turkey, while continuing with certified supervisions from international and Turkish trainers and supervisors in the area. Her area of interest includes applying psychotherapy with an EMDR focus to adults in areas such as, complex trauma, grief, attachment wounds, relationship problems and anxiety. She has also worked as a translator in more than EMDR trainings and conferences in Turkey.


She also completed the Solution Focused Brief Therapy training and supervisions from BRIEF London.


She worked in Institute for Behavioral Sciences (DBE) Adult and Family Department as a clinical psychologist between the years 2010-2013. 

2013 to 2022, she worked in Sabancı University as a psychological counselor for university students, while giving individual sessions and workshops. Meanwhile she continued to her psychotherapy work with adults through online and regular sessions.


In 2021 she joined BATE Psychology team based in Istanbul, and continues to work as a psychotherapist focusing on trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, loss and grief, and relational problems. She offers psychotherapy in Turkish, as well as in English to foreign clients. 


Her clinical framework is based on Psychodynamic approach and EMDR. She works eclectically using both backgrounds.


She has also completed the Coactive Coaching complete training offered by an ICF accredited ACTP level approved institute based in Istanbul, CTI Elemental Value. Her coaching approach is based on providing support within the scope of the coactive model which enables one to access their own resources, creativity and take action.
