Sezin Sevestre
After graduating from St. Georg Austrian High School, she obtained dual bachelor's degrees in Sociology from Boğaziçi University and in Psychology from Doğuş University. She then completed her master's degree in Clinical Psychology at Istanbul Bilgi University, earning the title of "Clinical Psychologist." In the same program, she specialized in the field of Couple and Family Therapy with her thesis titled "Mother, Daughter, and Son: A Qualitative Examination of the Family Therapy Process of an Adult Family." During her studies, she conducted internships at Yedikule Surp Pırgiç Armenian Hospital Psychiatry Clinic and the Institute of Behavioral Sciences. She worked as a research assistant in the project titled "Factors Influencing Marital Relationships" conducted at Özyeğin University Psychology Department. She conducted psychotherapy sessions under supervision with adults, couples, and families at the psychological counseling center of Bilgi University.
While her therapy approach is primarily psychodynamic, she also has a holistic perspective due to her training in EMDR therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT), and PACT-Couple Therapy with a Psycho-Biological approach. Additionally, she received training for 9 months from Istanbul Birth Academy and obtained the title of Birth Preparation Educator, enabling her to work with couples, mothers, and expectant mothers. She works with adults, couples, and families on various issues such as anxiety disorders, depression, loss and grief, trauma, relational difficulties, and conflicts and adjustment problems within families and couples.
She also engages in fieldwork after traumatic events in society and has participated in individual and group work with individuals affected by the 2015 Soma mine disaster, the 2016 Istanbul Atatürk Airport terrorist attack, and the 2019 Covid-19 pandemic as a member of voluntary support teams.
Since 2019, she has been practicing in Strasbourg, France, providing online psychotherapy and seminar services.
She is a member of the Turkish Psychologists Association, EMDR Association, and ÇATED (Couple and Family Therapies Association).
