Yonca Fener
Yonca Fener, who completed her high school education at Nilüfer Borsa Istanbul Science High School, graduated with high honors from the Psychology Department of Boğaziçi University.
During her Psychology education, she worked as a research assistant at Boğaziçi University Family and Child Research Laboratory and Koç University Mental Health Laboratory, contributing to projects on Early Childhood Development Ecologies, Strengthening Conflict Resolution Processes among Couples, and Trauma and Early Maladaptive Schemas in Turkey. She also participated in volunteer projects focused on mental health in collaboration with Galip Öztürk Sevgi Evleri and Cerrahpaşa Hospital Oncology Department.
She completed her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology at Istanbul Bilgi University with a thesis titled "Women Naming and Coping with Coercive Control in Dating Relations in
Türkiye: A Qualitative Study". During her master's studies, she worked as a research and teaching assistant at Istanbul Bilgi University Psychology Department and worked as an assistant at the Emotionally Focused Couples Therapies Association (DOÇAT). She completed 1st step training for Emotional Focused Couples Therapy.
At BATE, she continues her work with adults, couples, and adolescents through in-person and online sessions. With adults and adolescents, she employs an integrated approach based on Psychodynamic and Systemic schools, while utilizing Emotionally Focused approaches with couples.
